Rut repair on a Marion County road

The 2016 primary election included a host of transportation related measures. Below is a quick overview:

  • Clackamas County held an advisory vote on having a future vote on road funding, and it has passed by a significant margin.
  • In Jackson County, the Rogue Valley Transit District saw the approval of a 5-year property tax measure dedicated to transit operating expenses. The measure will assess 13 cents per $1000, raising a total of $9,475,443 over the 2016-2021 period.
  • Columbia County’s transit measure failed by a wide margin.
  • Outside of our county family, but of importance to our road system, the City of Portland passed a 10 cent gas tax by a narrow margin.
