State Forest Counties’ leadership to meet with Department of Forestry May 26

Notice of Regular Meeting

The State Forest Division of the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) will meet with the Forest Trust Lands Advisory Committee (FTLAC) and the Board of Directors of the Council of Forest Trust Land Counties (CFTLC) on May 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., in the Santiam Room, Building D, at the Department of Forestry campus, 2600 State St., in Salem.  This meeting is open to the public and an opportunity for public comment will be provided.

Items on the agenda include June Board of Forestry (BOF) meeting agenda items related to State Forests; ODF’s Program Option Packages with focus on State Forest recreation, education, and interpretation; and formulation of FTLAC testimony to the BOF at their June meeting.

CFTLC represents the 15 counties that deeded their land to the state for purposes of growing, harvesting, and sustaining forestlands.  In return, these counties collaborate with ODF and the BOF on State Forest matters, and they and local taxing districts located within the counties share revenues from harvest and other activities in the State Forests.  The seven-member CFTLC Board of Directors also serves as the FTLAC, which was created by statute in 1986 to advise the BOF and the State Forester on matters in which counties may have a role related to forestlands managed by ODF.

The meeting location is accessible to persons with disabilities.
