AOC Cap and Trade Subcommittee Meeting June 21

AOC Cap and Trade Subcommittee co-chairs Melissa Cribbins (Coos County Commissioner) and Don Russell (Morrow County Commissioner) will be convening a subcommittee meeting on June 21, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in room 306 at the Local Government Center (1201 Court St., Salem, Oregon 97301).

All Oregon county commissioners and judges interested in this topic should attend. Please plan to join the meeting in person. However, a call-in option will be provided to those who request this participation option. An agenda and meeting materials will be distributed to attendees closer to the meeting.

The first first meeting will focus on hearing from Governor’s carbon policy adviser, and perhaps others, to talk about progress on funding attached to the necessary studies, progress on those studies, and then an overview of how their office is managing this discussion with the joint interim committee on carbon reduction.

Most important, the meeting will allow judges and commissioners the opportunity to brainstorm possible AOC policy principles for this effort. This should help guide our future meetings on area-specific principles. Please come with your ideas.
