Association of Oregon Counties (AOC) is a 22-member staff of professional employees with broad duties and skill-sets. Each team member has a fascinating story, and unique attributes that help make AOC the success it is today. Here’s an opportunity to meet Mel Ocampo, a member of your financial services team who is charged with crafting the AOC 2020 budget.

Meet AOC Senior Accountant, Mel Ocampo

Fiscal services supports AOC membership by effectively managing the financial transaction records related to the operation of AOC.

This division strives to deliver accurate and timely financial reports internally and externally, that allow AOC to be good stewards of member dues providing consistent, efficient, and effective information. Information compiled by the division undergoes a rigorous review by external, independent auditors annually.

Additional services of the fiscal services division include: accounting, payroll, financial reporting, budget, financial planning and analysis, treasury and working capital management, grants accounting, capital asset and debt management reporting, property and equipment (fixed assets) inventory, and paying vendors for goods and services.

 Why Mel Loves AOC

“My previous work experiences have been mostly in big organizations. With AOC, I found that smaller organizations have more engaged employees that can help you understand and focus more on your job.”

What Interests Mel in Finance at AOC

“I believe my experience in public accounting can make a difference at AOC overall. I have a broad background in finance and understand the ins and outs of compiling complex budgets that responsibly allocate funds to critical programs, and can withstand thorough audits.”

AOC’s Future

“I want to see AOC not only succeed, but be known to all Oregonians of the work we do for their benefit.”
