Oregon County officials received a number of leadership committee appointments in the National Association of Counties (NACo), which unites America’s 3,069 county governments, for 2016-2017. Appointments were announced in Los Angeles County at the NACo Annual Conference on July 25, 2016 by incoming NACo President Brian Desloge.

Oregon appointments are:

  • Clackamas County Commissioner Martha Schrader – Subcommittee Chair of the Community, Economic and Workforce Development Steering Committee
  • Coos County Commissioner Melissa Cribbins – Subcommittee Chair of the Environment, Energy and Land Use Steering Committee
  • Crook County Commissioner Seth Crawford – Vice Chair of the Information Technology Standing Committee
  • Multnomah County Commissioner Diane McKeel – Vice Chair of the Veterans and Military Services Committee
  • Umatilla County Commissioner George Murdock – Subcommittee Chair of the Human Services and Education Steering Committee

The Association of Oregon Counties (AOC) would like to congratulate Commissioner Schrader, Commissioner Cribbins, Commissioner Crawford, Commissioner McKeel, and Commissioner Murdock on their appointments and for their leadership at the local, state, and national level.

NACo’s Annual Conference provides county officials with the opportunity to vote on NACo’s policies related to federal legislation and regulation; network with colleagues, learn about issues impacting counties and the innovative county programs being implemented across the county.
