Water Project Grants and Loans Applications

The Oregon Water Resources Department is inviting public comment on 37 applications received requesting Water Projects Grants and Loans funds from the Water Supply Development Account. In 2013, the Oregon Legislature passed Senate Bill 839, establishing the Water Supply Development Account to provide grants and loans for water development projects that have economic, environmental and social/cultural benefits. The Water Resources Department currently has $14.03 million authorized by the Legislature to provide funding for eligible projects in the 2015-2017 Biennium. These 37 applications requested a total of nearly $51 million.

Written comments on these applications will be accepted until 5:00pm, March 30, 2016.

Any comments received by the March 30 deadline will be considered by the inter-agency Technical Review Team in their the evaluation of the applications. Click here to see the scoring criteria that will be considered by the Technical Review Team. Additional public comment will be sought by the Commission after rankings are published and prior to a final decision on an application.

Department staff anticipate presenting the Technical Review Team funding recommendations to the Water Resources Commission at the May 2016 Commission meeting.
