With strong bipartisan support, the House passed a transient lodging intermediary fix bill on Thursday, February 22nd.

The bill moved out of the Senate Finance and Revenue Committee, chaired by Senator Mark Hass (D-Beaverton), on February 27th in a unanimous vote, and is headed for the floor of the Senate.

HB 4120 will ensure tax fairness and tax collection efficiency for counties and cities that have transient lodging taxes.  The bill updates definitions and the collection process to clearly cover the various short-term rental online platforms that have become popular over the last few years.
