Due to the involvement and engagement the Eastern Oregon counties, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service released final objection instructions for the Umatilla, Malheur, and Wallowa-Whitman National Forest Plan Revisions. Commissioners and officials met with U.S. Forest Service Chief, Vicki Christiansen to articulate their concerns with the Plan while attending the recent National Association of Counties (NACo) conference in March.
