The West Coast Regional Planning Body (RPB) will have its 2016 Annual Meeting on Oct. 26 & 27 in Portland, OR at The Leftbank Annex. The meeting will include roughly 25 RPB member representatives, including the three West Coast states and 8-10 tribal governments, along with federal agencies and Pacific Fishery Management Council. The focus of the meeting will be identifying core regional functions of the group related to West Coast priorities and the US National Ocean Policy, linkages to other regional ocean entities, leveraging existing and new sub-regional ocean planning, and planning for enhanced stakeholder outreach and engagement. Current registration for the meeting stands at around 80 total attendees from a range of audiences, with ample public comment opportunity built in to the agenda. Tasks for the RPB following the meeting will including finalize its work plan and timeline for 2017-18, adopting a Communications & Engagement Plan, identifying regional and sub-regional tasks, and clarifying relationship with the West Coast Ocean Partnership and West Coast Ocean Data Portal.
