23 Legislators Mingle with Judges and Commissioners
Following our day of meetings on March 13th, AOC hosted a reception for legislators and staff modeled after our County Product Tasting at the AOC Annual Conference. Despite making it a long night for many, 23 legislators joined even more county commissioners and judges at the Willamette Heritage Center to sample some of Oregon’s tastiest food and beverages.
Legislators in attendance included: Senators DeBoer (R-Ashland), Hansell (R-Athena), Knopp (R-Bend), Linthicum (R-Klamath Falls), Prozanski (D-South Lane & North Douglas counties), Steiner Hayward (D-NW Portland/Beaverton), and Thomsen (R-Hood River), as well as Representatives Barnhart (D-Central Lane & Linn counties), Barreto (R-Cove), Boone (D-Cannon Beach), Hack (R-Salem), Huffman (R-The Dalles), Johnson (R-Hood River), Kennemer (R-Oregon City), McLane (R-Powell Butte), Nathanson (D-Eugene), Noble (R-McMinnville), Nosse (D-Portland), Parrish (R-Tualatin/West Linn), Reschke (R-Klamath Falls), Brock Smith (R-Port Oford), Whisnant (R-Sunriver) and Wilson (R-Grants Pass).
The program began with Senator Hansell and AOC Past-President Larry Givens welcoming the crowd and talking about the importance of our county-state partnerships. Our newest members of the County Caucus then took the stage, sharing their initial thoughts after serving in a new office for nearly three months now.
We would like to give a big thank you to Benton, Clackamas, Coos, Columbia, Hood River, Klamath, Lane, Lincoln, Marion, Tillamook, Wasco, Umatilla, and Yamhill Counties for contributing to the event. We had a variety of beers and wines from across the state, as well as delicious cheeses, meats, fish, and desserts.
