Salem, Ore. (October 25, 2021) — The Association of Oregon Counties (AOC) announced it will have a new home beginning November 1, 2021. AOC will be relocated to 1212 Court Street, Salem, OR, 97301, former CIS headquarters.

AOC was presented with a unique opportunity to acquire the CIS building at 1212 Court Street, Salem, OR 97301 during the last year. This building is located across the street from AOC’s current facility in the Local Government Center.

“After robust discussions with the AOC Executive Committee and Board of Directors, and extensive work from the team, we now own our own building,” AOC Executive Director Gina Firman Nikkel, Ph.D said of the move. “We are excited to move AOC into its new home. This new space will allow for all staff and departments, including the County Road Program, to operate under one roof.”

CIS has a special connection to AOC,” said AOC President and Coos County Commissioner Melissa Cribbins. “This created a perfect opportunity to work with our partners to gain an asset that can truly become a new home for our organization.”

CIS was formed by AOC and the League of Oregon Cities to meet the risk management and employee benefit needs of Oregon cities, counties, and other eligible local governments.

AOC plans to host an open house during the 2022 Legislative Session.

“I look forward to celebrating our new home with county commissioners, judges, chairs, and our partners. We’ve come a long way as an organization and this means a lot to be able to call this property ours,” said Nikkel.
