Budget and Finance Committee

The Budget and Finance Committee is a committee of AOC established to support the board of directors in fulfilling its responsibility to oversee the association’s financial strategy and performance. The primary role of the committee is to provide support and oversight of the adopted budget, risk management, investments, employee compensation, long range financial planning, financial reporting, and monitoring of internal controls/accountability.

In addition, the AOC executive director proposes annually a budget for review by the Budget and Finance Committee. The Budget and Finance Committee recommends a proposed budget to the AOC board of directors prior to the AOC annual conference.

The Budget and Finance Committee shall consist of each of the AOC district chairs – or their designees – as members. In addition, the AOC president shall recommend – and the board of directors shall appoint – additional members annually, including, but not limited to, the first vice president, the immediate past president, an OACES member recommended by the OACES board of directors, and a county administrator. The AOC treasurer and a member of the committee appointed by the first vice president shall serve as co-chairs of the committee.
