Association of Oregon Counties (AOC) President Martha Schrader (Clackamas County), Public Safety Committee Co-Chair Jay Bozievich (Lane County), and AOC Public Safety Committee Vice Chair Sheriff Jason Myers (Marion County) testified in the Joint Ways & Means SubCommittee on Public Safety on March 28. The AOC panel discussed the importance of fully funding community corrections in the Department of Corrections budget (SB 5504) at $319 million to continue evidence-based local programs to reduce recidivism.

AOC is also advocating for current service level funding ($50 million) for the Justice Reinvestment Initiative.
