Umatilla County Commissioner George Murdock, who heads of the Court Facilities Task Force, presented that group’s recommendations for courthouse replacements and improvements for the Oregon Chief Justice. Four courthouse replacement projects are included in the recommendation along with nine courthouse improvement projects. The Legislative Committee approved the recommendations, which will now go the Chief Justice who will decide if they should go the next session of the legislature for action.
The courthouse replacement requests the task force approved are for Lane, Clackamas, Benton and Linn Counties. The courthouse improvement projects approved are for Benton, Grant, Coos, Polk, Tillamook, Umatilla, Lake and Morrow.
