Supreme Court Chief Justice Tom Balmer and the Oregon Judicial Department were directed by the Legislature to provide a report by December regarding the next 12 years of courthouse replacement needs by counties. AOC has convened a court facilities task force over the past three years to help prioritize courthouse replacement and improvement projects around the state.  Counties have been successfully receiving improvement funds from the state’s criminal fines and assessment account and replacement matching funds from bond funds.

The task force met on Monday, September 26 at the Local Government Center to begin prioritization of these projects.  The task force will meet again on Monday, October 10 and a final report to the Legislature will be presented in December.
