The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is now accepting applications for Materials Management Project and Planning grants. Qualifying projects will reduce impacts across the full cycle of materials and products. Under the grant program, a life cycle includes product design, raw material extraction, manufacturing, transport, consumption, use, reuse, repair, recovery through recycling, composting or anaerobic digestion, and disposal.

The DEQ anticipates awarding up to $600,000 statewide for the program.

Information on the program and grant applications can be found at the DEQ website. Local governments, tribal governments, nonprofit organizations and schools (for food waste prevention projects only) are eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted by Friday, October 4.

If you have questions about the program, please contact, Marie Diodati.
