The Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) has a draft recommendation for organizing workgroups based on the various issues raised in the NFIP BiOp meetings they jointly held with FEMA this summer. The recommendation is posted on DLCD’s NFIP BiOp web page along with other updates.

DLCD is now actively recruiting people to serve on these workgroups.  If you are interested, describe your particular interest and expertise and contact DLCD staff, Amanda Punton.  She will contact volunteers once workgroup categories are finalized. Workgroup participants will be expected to commit 10-20 hours a month for 3-5 months. The start date for workgroups may be staggered since completion of some tasks may rely upon information generated by other workgroups.

Feel free to contact Amanda with any questions about DLCD’s role in assembling and supporting these workgroups. For more on AOC’s role, please contact Mark Nystrom.

FEMA Region 10 staff is also available to answer questions about their role and interest in the workgroups.
