DOJ seeking applications for Second Chance Act grants for co-occurring substance use and mental disorders

On January 11, the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) released a grant solicitation seeking applications for the Second Chance Act Reentry Program for Adults with Co-Occurring Substance Use and Mental Disorders. County governments are eligible for these grants. According to DOJ, the program “furthers the Department’s mission by providing resources to state, local, and tribal governments to establish or enhance the provision of treatment to adults to facilitate the successful reintegration of individuals returning from incarceration to their communities.”
