The Oregon Legislative Coastal Caucus is pleased to invite you to the 7th Annual Oregon Coastal Caucus Economic Summit (OCCES), Wednesday andThursday, August 22 and 23, at Chinook Winds Casino & Resort, Lincoln City.

This year’s Summit is being presented in partnership with the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.  As members of the nine federally recognized Indian tribes native to Oregon and one of our states’ largest employers, the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians have made significant contributions to improving the quality of life for residents, particularly in our rural areas. Oregon Indian tribes have a special interest in, and a unique perspective on, the health of our rural and coastal region’s economy and the impact of our state’s educational policies.  We are grateful for their participation in, and support of, this year’s Summit.

Two critical themes share the platform at this year’s Summit; “Student Success: Challenges and Opportunities in Education” and “The Sequestration of Carbon: A Collaborative Approach to Cap, Investment and Green Energy Job Growth.”

The Economic Summit will be another innovative collaboration and networking opportunity among our congressional and state legislative leadership, businesses and local government partners. Successful Economic development efforts are dependent on our community’s attendance and participation at this year’s Summit.

Local Community members have a vital role to play in sustaining and contributing to the very constructive discussions, dialogues and solutions that have become a hallmark of the OCCES.
