U.S. Forest Service (USFS) Secure Rural Schools (SRS) payments for FY 2017 were initiated on May 7th. States should receive the funds within seven days. In Oregon, the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) receives Oregon’s counties’ share. DAS computes each eligible county’s share and transmits it to that county. The DAS part of the process can take some time. Once the revenue is received by counties, the split between schools and road funds is calculated for Title I.
