The Oregon Natural Desert Association is holding its 2016 conference in Bend on October 14th. The meeting will feature a keynote from Nancy Langston, an environmental historian who has conducted extensive research on the history of eastern Oregon’s Malheur basin and authored the noted book Where Land and Water Meet: A Western Landscape Transformed. Then there will be four panel discussions:

Panel #1 – Malheur National Wildlife Refuge: A Moment of Conflict, A History of Collaboration
Panel #2 – Greater Sage-grouse: The Key(stone) to Compromise
Panel #3 – Sutton Mountain: Where Economics and Conservation Collide and Coincide
Panel #4 – Shared Visions for the Future of Oregon’s High Desert

The meeting will be held Friday, October 14, 8am-6pm at the Unitarian Universalist Campus 61980 Skyline Ranch Road, Bend.
