The AOC Veterans Steering Committee works together as a collective voice for Oregon Counties in an effort to help provide the best possible services to our veterans, service members, and their families. By supporting County Veteran Service Officers (CVSO’s) and working closely with the Oregon Department of Veterans (ODVA) and other community partners, the Committee aims to improve access and coordination of employment, housing, education, healthcare (physical health & behavioral health), pension, and other earned benefits for military service veterans and their families. In addition, the Committee’s work encompasses collaboration with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) on veterans behavioral health issues, the Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) on veterans housing issues, and the Criminal Justice Commission (CJC) on veterans criminal justice system issues.
