A small work group representing a diverse set of interests worked during the last interim on legislation to remove marijuana from the state Controlled Substances Act (CSA), and completely rewrite the marijuana offense code, as well as clean up and harmonize the Minor In Possession (MIP) statutes relating to both alcohol and marijuana. The bills, largely crafted by AOC, are Senate Bills 302 and 303, and are currently passing through the legislature. It is anticipated that they will arrive on the Governor’s desk during the first week in April. The bills will go into effect the day the Governor signs the bills. As in the past, AOC will be providing law enforcement with an updated training video, and accompanying booklet.
